The Bayramiç Dam, is a large reservoir located a few kilometres east of the town of Bayramiç. It sits in the fertile valley of the Karamenderes River, which rises in the forested slopes of Kaz Dağları, historically known as Mount Ida. The river flows through the Bayramiç plain before eventually reaching the Aegean Sea near the entrance to the Dardanelles. The reservoir created by the dam has become an important feature of the surrounding countryside and plays a key role in supporting agriculture in the region.
Bayramiç Barajı olarak Türkçede bilinen Bayramiç Barajı, Bayramiç kasabasının birkaç kilometre doğusunda bulunan büyük bir su rezervuarıdır. Ormanlık Kaz Dağları’nın (tarihsel olarak İda Dağı olarak bilinir) yamaçlarından doğan Karamenderes Nehri’nin verimli vadisinde yer alır. Nehir, Bayramiç Ovası’ndan geçtikten sonra sonunda Çanakkale Boğazı girişine yakın bir noktada Ege Denizi’ne ulaşır. Barajın oluşturduğu rezervuar, çevredeki kırsal manzaranın önemli bir unsuru hâline gelmiş ve bölgede tarımın desteklenmesinde önemli bir rol oynamaktadır.
